Making arguably the finest wines in Argentina with the malbec grape, Zuccardi have also crafted this beauty made from 100% cabernet franc. The grapes come from select vineyards in the sub-region of Paraje Altimara grown in the high-altitude vineyards (almost 1,000m up!) of Argentina's Uco Valley.
The sheer quality of the wine for £16 a bottle shines through on the nose of incense, violets, jasmine, iris flower, black cherry, cassis and graphite with a smattering of black pepper.
On the palate, the Apelacion Cabernet Franc is as lovers of the grape would expect: fleshy black fruit, a velvety mouthfeel, cashmere-soft tannins and flecks of spice. This is beautiful and the perfect accompaniment to a hearty Sunday roast, barbecue or stew.
